Library Committee

Nopany Institute of Healthcare Studies has been continuously enhancing and updating its well-equipped Library as it is one of the key learning resources which assists students in fulfilling their information requirements and helps its faculty members in supplementing classroom lectures. The purpose of the Library Committee is to act as a channel of communication between the Institute Library and its users. It shall assist in developing operational procedures, suggest various measures for improvement and development of the library resources, and formulate both personnel and fiscal policies. It shall strive to inculcate the enriching habit of reading in a technologically enabled and intellectual atmosphere.

Functions

  • 1. To suggest and frame rules & regulations regarding library administration and procurement with approval from management.
  • 2. To look into the daily problems of the Library clientele, Library staff and send recommendations to the higher authority.
  • 3. To maintain liaison among the librarian, the student, and the faculty members.
  • 4. To arrange for procuring subject-wise books/magazines/journals, updating of accession register, and put forward the views of faculty members to the higher authority.
  • 5. To submit a plan for upgradation of the infrastructure (seating capacity, internet facility and a staff corner).
  • 6. To prepare Quarterly Library Report.
  • 7. To recommend measures (to create and maintain feedback register, creation of seminar library, keep records of maintaining project reports as per name list of all streams, to keep a xerox machine, to maintain question bank along with records of syllabus, to create book bank by book donation and to maintain student & staff book issue register separately) for upgrading the library facilities.
  • 8. To create a center of excellence of the potential human resources of our college (for enhancing the academic information environment and usefulness of the library) towards library, the committee will try to observe the following best practices:
    1. Displaying newspaper clippings on the notice board periodically.
    2. Career / Employment information service.
    3. Displaying new arrivals & monthly quotes on the board.
  • 9. To make provision for digital library in the near future.
  • 10. To make provision for accessing the libraries of international repute like BCL, American Library, National Library etc.
